No known cure for the common cold, or is there?

Year on year without fail I get a killer cold if I'm lucky. Otherwise it's that crippling man flu which on many occasions is responsible for turning many men into lesser men. It can be embarrassing when my partner who could never understand the suffering brought on by a MAN flu would make fun of the shadow of the man I was.

Research findings reveal colds are the number one reason employees miss work, the average person will encounter two or three a year. Many of us find ourselves unable to fulfill our work duties, writing off the month binging on Netflix and going through an endless supply of tissues.

So what should we do to stay healthy and avoid getting sick? In an ideal world prevention is best, but so many find themselves seeking a cure which always tends to be reactive. Therefore the average person being aware of their diet and lifestyle is crucial. It's the bread and butter of good health and as cliche as that sounds i have to emphasise the importance of not overlooking what you put in your temple. With that being said, what else can we do if we find ourselves under the weather? Staying hydrated with plenty of water and eating or drinking fruits that are high in vitamin C are very helpful with flushing out viruses.
Something else that is flying under the radar is black seed oil also known as Nigella sativa, Kalonji, black cumin or black caraway. With a track record that spans back to the Egyptian and Mesopotamiam civilizations. Mentioned in the Bible, King Tut and Cleopatra were keen admirers and the Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) said that the black seed is a cure for all diseases except death. All this fascinating history and reputation has sparked interest in the science and medical fields with much research conducted as early as the sixties. So what makes this epic superfood so special.

The Nigella sativa flower has three key phytochemicals: thymoquinone, thymohydroquinone, and thymol. These phytochemicals provide a natural supplement that is full of antioxidants which boost the immune system, their antibacterial and antiviral properties help fight infections, and antifungal properties can help you with certain allergies.

Recent studies involving black seed oil reveal why the cold and flu struggle to get hold of your immune system. It’s potent antimicrobial, immune-boosting properties act like kryptonite, other studies have referred to the herb as a 'miracle seed', if after all this you're still not convinced please take it upon yourself to check the reviews all over the internet about this epic superfood.

Some food for thought;

Surely employers should be excited about a potential solution that will not only overcome viral related sicknesses but will also increase their workforces productivity, as we know some of the many benefits that come with black seed oil are increasing energy, stamina, strength, improves memory, cognitive abilities and finally its mood enhancing effects will leave your employees healthy, energetic and most importantly happy to be there.
